A sequel to the 2013 box-office hit World War Z is on its way. It looks like Steven Knight, the writer behind the first movie, will also be penning the second.

In an interview with Indiewire, Knight revealed the sequel won’t necessarily be a continuation of the first World War Z, but instead a clean slate. He said, “I thought, ‘why not? What fun? It’s not quite like the other; we’re starting with a clean slate. When they’ve signed off we’re on”.

World War Z stars Brad Pitt as United Nations employee, Gerry Lane, who is stuck in traffic with his wife and two daughters. Unexpectedly, they witness a few accidents caused by roaming zombies and barely escape with their lives. Lane hears from an old UN contact, and must go on a mission to find out how to stop the mysterious zombie virus from spreading and what can be done to save the world.
