Will Ferrell is about to show us his best Shakespeare. Don’t worry, Will Ferrell isn’t abandoning his funny side in order to play in an adaptation of Hamlet or King Lear (although, we won’t lie – that would be very interesting to see). Instead, the Elf actor is taking on a role in a comedy feature which dives in to the extremely competitive and even cut-throat world of Shakespearean theatre world, where he will play a simple thespian. This news was first reported by Variety.

This comedy will be scripted by David Guion and Michael Handelman, and released by Sony Pictures. The movie is currently untitled, and very few details are available in its preproduction stages. We will keep you updates as we find out more.

Will Ferrell was most recently heard in The LEGO Movie (IMDb rating 7.9). You can watch The Lego Movie on iTunes in Canada, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Sweden, UK, USA, Norway, and Ireland.
