It seems as though Sony has had a sudden change of heart – The Interview will be released in select US theatres. After pulling the movie form theatres last week due to terror threats from hackers linked to North Korea, the company decided to go through with a limited theatre AND online release. The movie will be released in approximately 260 theatres in the USA – check online for listings near you.

It was also announced today that the movie will be made available for viewing online on YouTube, Google Play, and Sony’s own streaming service. The plot of The Interview follows Dave Skylark (James Franco) and Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) who run a celebrity tabloid show called “Skylark Tonight”. After discovering North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a huge fan of the show, the two manage to land an interview with him. As they get ready to travel to North Korea they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate the dictator.
