Can we all collectively agree that Christoph Waltz would make one of the best Bond villains of all time? Good; because it looks like that is really going to happen.

According to various sources (including ComingSoon, IGN, The Guardian) the Inglorious Basterds star will be taking on the role of Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the upcoming Bond 24, the currently untitled 24th 007 film. Waltz will be the 9th actor taking on the role of the infamous villain best known for his white cat and sinister schemes. The Daily Mail reported that an unnamed source said Waltz was chosen because “ the tone of 007 films have changed significantly in the recent years and the producers have changed the character to fit in with the new-look 007”.

If the rumors are true, and we really hope they are, Waltz will be the first actor to portray Blofeld in an “official” Bond film since 1981. Bond 24 is set for release on November 6th 2015, and will be directed by Skyfall director, Sam Mendes.
