Melancholia star Kirsten Dunst has signed on to play in the second season of the successful Fargo series. Dunst will play a small-town beautician by the name of Peggy Blomquist who has big aspirations. She struggles with what is expected of her and yearns for self exploration. She is joined onscreen by Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons, who will be playing the role of her supportive husband. This season of Fargo will be set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and in Luverne, Minnesota.

Fargo is based on the classic Coen Brothers film by the same name. The series follows various people caught in “true crime” scenarios. The first season was a huge success, receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics, and nominations for 18 Emmy Awards. Produced by FX Productions and MGM Television, the show is set for release in fall of 2015.
